WINTER, I LOVE YOU.

Oh, winter. I miss you. Chunky knits in super cosy fabrics, a monochrome palette with hints of moody berries, plum and emerald. Wool hats, scarves, furs, splices of leather – and of course, a shoe cupboard full of to-die-for boots. It’s no secret I’m hanging out for the cooler months – I just love winter fashion and all the things that come along with it – hot chocolates, nights spent in on the couch bundled up with a red wine, scented candles burning in every room – even my cat is nicer to me when it’s cold.

AN “OZ” GIVEAWAY.

{Outfit 1: Sportsgirl knit, skirt & heels, Alexander Wang clutch – Outfit 2: Marc by Marc Jacobs knit, Alexander Wang shirt, Sportsgirl leggings, Charlotte Olympia slippers – Outfit 3: Topshop beanie, top & skater skirt, Pedro Garcia brogues}

Fun fact: my favourite colour is green. So when the lovely PR team behind the film “Oz: The Great & Powerful” contacted me and asked if I’d like to do an emerald-themed edit, I was all ears. That and the fact that this Disney film is genuinely high on my list of ones I can’t wait to see – even more so since it also stars the love of my life aka. James “Dreamboat” Franco. Another fun fact: Emerald is this year’s Pantone Colour of the Year.

To celebrate the film’s March 7 release date here in Oz (harhar), I have some double passes to give away to lucky Style Paws readers. Want to go in the running? Simply leave a comment below with which of these three outfits you would most like to wear. Be sure to include your e-mail address too!

I’ll randomly draw the winners on Wednesday 6th of March at 5pm. Best of luck!

GIRL INFORM ME.

LIVE CHAT.

I was going to mention this a little while ago, but totally forgot to. Yesterday I did a “Live Chat” on the Sportsgirl Facebook page, where I answered questions about what it’s like to be a fashion writer and online editor. It was a lot of fun chatting with our community of girls, and a big hello to anyone who may be checking out my blog now because I mentioned it in the chat session. x

STYLE CRUSH: SANDRA HAGELSTAM, 5 INCH AND UP

{All images via 5 Inch & Up}

If there is one blogger whose style I think is inimitable, I would say it’s Finnish blogger Sandra Hagelstam from ’5 Inch & Up’. I think it was the sudden cool weather we experienced today in the middle of a Melbourne summer that made me think of her, since most of her outfit posts show an incredible, art-like ability to layer and play with proportion and silhouette. Sandra’s look is always effortlessly polished, always complex yet never overdone.

With a flawless wardrobe, which seems to be full of runway-to-reality pieces, the most incredible shoe collection and with a very unique Scandinavian signature I find her blog very inspiring. So many nice coats. So much beautiful blonde hair.
