{Shirt – Mink Pink c/o Market HQ; Jacket, Leggings  & rings – Sportsgirl; Bag – Alexander Wang; Boots – New Look. Chase wears Topman!}

So my L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival schedule officially began last night with the Alpha 60 show held right next to the beautiful St Paul’s Cathedral. It was quite spectacular with an 80s electro-inspired performance by Geoffrey O’Connor to kick things off and the coolest reservation placeholders I ever did see (giant skulls). Hopefully I’ll have some time later to sort through the photos Chase took and show you some runway looks, but it was all very cosy and minimalist with blush silks and grey and black wool colour-blocking.

This is what we wore to the event, and I’d like to officially thank the gorgeous gals at Market HQ for providing me with a few cool new threads – more which I will show you on the blog shortly. This shirt by Mink Pink is a dream to wear and exactly what I didn’t realise I was missing from my wardrobe. I wish it had been warmer so I could have shown you some better pics! With a slight sheen to the fabric, it feels delicious and comfy, and has a simple but striking cut-out at the back. The perfect staple to accompany my “loud” pants and definitely a piece I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of!

Tonight I will be providing coverage of the Opening Runway event thanks to Nokia Australia and their new Lumia 800 phone. Make sure you’re following me on Twitter for live updates (if you’re so inclined!). Looking forward to this very sleepless week of events and can’t wait to meet up with some fellow bloggers, some who I have known for years now! More blogging to come, watch this space.
